I am a native of Boise, Idaho and have been creating artwork since early childhood. I have a wonderful husband, two children, a daughter-in-law, the cutest grandson EVER, my dog Blue, one cat and fish! I enjoy the outdoors and am an avid bird watcher.
I love the challenge that graphite (pencil) brings. I spend hours working on a piece thinking only a few minutes have passed. I strive for realism, my favorite type of art, and graphite affords me that luxury more than any other medium. I have a natural ability to "see" what I am drawing, acheiving the true essense of my subjects. For me that is what art is all about. I enjoy seeing the values and tones in nature, fur, metal, glass, skin, trees, the list is endless. My work often gets mistaken for photographs, which I consider a compliment. I enjoy adding just a touch of color to some of my pieces, icing on the cake you might say. I have become well known for this touch and have earned a wonderful reputation because of it. Realistic graphite art has become quite popular again, with great respect afforded for mastering the details that it can provide.
